How much does custom software cost?

Accepted Answer

It depends on scope, but most projects land between £6,000 and £30,000. A simple internal tool or client portal usually starts around £6,000 to £10,000. A full platform replacing several systems is typically £15,000 to £30,000. You get a fixed scope and a fixed price before anything is built, so there are no surprises. The first conversation and written scope are always free.

How long does it take to build?

Weeks, not months. A focused internal tool is usually 3 to 6 weeks from kick-off to launch. A larger platform is 8 to 12 weeks. I work fast because there are no handovers, no account managers, and no waiting for a designer to email a developer. You see progress every week and can steer as we go.

I am not technical. Will I be able to use it?

Yes. That is the whole point. I build for the person who has to use the thing every day, not the person who commissioned it. Every project ends with proper training, a plain English guide, and a video walkthrough. If a screen needs a manual, I have designed it wrong.

What if I only need a website?

Then that is what you get. Not everyone needs custom software. A well-built website that brings in enquiries and gets found on Google and AI search is often exactly the right answer. I design and build sites in the same way I build software, around how your business actually works and how your buyers actually decide.

Yes. Sitelift is based in Pembrokeshire but works with businesses across the UK and internationally. Most projects run over calls, shared docs and Slack. In-person meetings are available across Wales and the south-west if you would rather sit down together.

What happens after it launches?

Accepted Answer

You own it. The code, the accounts, the data, everything. I hand over full access, run training with your team, and stay on hand for questions. Ongoing support is available on a small monthly retainer if you want it, but nothing is locked behind a contract. If you want to walk away and never speak to me again, you can.

Yes. As well as normal SEO, I set your site up for AI search (AEO) so tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI answers can find and recommend you. It is mostly good website basics done properly, plus a few technical tweaks.
